Encinitas, CA – The City of Encinitas is encouraging residents to join the “EV” electric vehicle revolution by participating in the 7th Annual San Diego Electric Vehicle (EV) Day Event on Saturday, Sept. 14. The free event happens during National Drive Electric Week and is co-sponsored by San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), Cleantech San Diego and the Center for Sustainable Energy. This event is not a City of Encinitas sponsored event.
It’s the largest test drive event of its kind in the region and features the latest models of plug-in electric cars. Test drives and family-friendly activities will be provided at Liberty Station’s Ingram Plaza from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It provides a great opportunity for those who are curious about EV to test drive several different makes and models of cars. Attendees can learn more about the latest automotive technology and ask questions about how to charge an EV, where to charge them, where chargers are built, and special SDG&E electricity pricing plans for EV drivers.
The City has identified the transportation sector as the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions and is actively encouraging residents to consider switching to electric vehicles for their mode of transportation.
