The Capital Improvement Division implements the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), including those projects that are State and Federally funded. The CIP Division provides for the planning, design, construction, administration, and construction inspection of capital projects with a combination of in-house and consultant staff. The CIP Division is augmented by consultants as needed on technical specialty work or time-constrained projects.
The Traffic Engineering Division is primarily responsible for implementing policy involving pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic movement. The division responds to citizen comments and inquiries regarding traffic-related issues, as well as plans, designs, and implements traffic control devices.
