COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

San Diego County Case Count: 966

Today, April 2, marked a COVID-19 milestone: over 1 million confirmed cases and 50,000 deaths have been reported worldwide, almost 250,000 cases have been confirmed in the US, California is approaching 10,000 confirmed cases, and tomorrow San Diego will report more than 1,000 cases.

San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) reported 966 COVID-19 cases, with 25 cases among Encinitas residents.

Stay home, stop the spread, save lives.

Toilets Are Not Trash Cans

With people increasing their household cleaning to prevent COVID-19 and flushing disinfecting wipes down the toilet, the sewer systems are under additional strain. Putting any kind of wipe in the toilet rather than in the trash can cause clogs in your house pipes and sewer spills, increasing maintenance costs for both you and the City and ultimately harming the environment.

As you clean your house, please dispose of all wipes and towels in the trashcan.

For more information on what not to flush, see https://www.sejpa.org/component/content/article/11-how-can-you-help/53-sejpa-amelie?Itemid=127.
