Assistance for Encinitas Businesses

The City of Encinitas is committed to providing support and assistance for local businesses, and has compiled a list of small business resources that can be found here.

Several programs have been developed through the Small Business Administration (SBA) to assist small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak:

  1. Paycheck Protection Program
  2. Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)
  3. SBA Express Bridge Loans
  4. SBA Debt Relief provides deferments and special processing for businesses that already have an SBA loan.

Additionally, California IBank has a Small Business Disaster Relief Loan Guarantee Program. More information can be found here: https://www.ibank.ca.gov/small-business-finance-center/.

Given the complexities of these different programs, the City has partnered with the North County Small Business Development Center (https://www.sdivsbdc.org/north-san-diego-county/) to provide free one on one counseling. The SBA San Diego District Office (https://www.sba.gov/offices/district/ca/san-diego) can also put you in contact with other resource centers that can walk you through the programs and the potential eligibility for your business. The SBA has recommended that loan seekers try to obtain the SBA loans through their existing banks. However, not every bank offers SBA loans, so some businesses may find helpful the services of “matchmaker” firms that help pair businesses seeking loans with banks offering the SBA loans. Examples include Lendio.com and Kabbage.com. Please note that these are private entities not affiliated with the City and the City cannot make a recommendation whether these firms may provide a service which may be suitable for a given business.
