The mission of the Encinitas Fire Department is to provide the highest level of service to the communities and the people we serve, by protecting life, property, and the environment. An annual business inspection is one of the most effective services provided to increase the safety of the entire community. Typically, a member of the Fire Department would pay a visit to every business location and perform an inspection based on the current codes. To maintain safety during the current pandemic, the Fire Marshal is requesting each business to conduct a self-certification/inspection. Completion of this form by the business owner will continue the effort of safety and awareness and will keep both the business employees and fire department staff safe from potential disease transmission.
Any business inspection forms not received by September 18, 2020 will require an in-person inspection during the months of October and November While all required social distancing protocols will be maintained during these inspections, self-certification is still the preferred method of ensuring compliance in 2020 to continue the efforts of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
