Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-28-20, which provides renters certain protections from eviction and homeowners from mortgage foreclosures during the COVID-19 state of emergency and the City of Encinitas companion Urgency Ordinance 2020-07 expire on September 30, 2020.
On August 31, 2020, the State of California enacted Assembly Bill 3088 (AB 3088) to extend some of those protections and set certain requirements for both landlords and tenants. It is important to note that while the City of Encinitas Eviction Moratorium provided protections for Commercial leases, AB 3088 does not, and those protections expire on September 30, 2020.
