Slurry seal work has been rescheduled to the night of Thursday, Oct. 27 and the days of Monday, Oct. 31 and Tuesday, Nov. 1, for the Leucadia Streetscape Safety and Mobility Enhancements project.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Nighttime working hours will be from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • On the night of Thursday, Oct. 27, crews will slurry seal the southbound outside lane and parking areas of N. Coast Highway 101 adjacent to the sidewalk from Basil Street to La Costa Avenue. During this work, most southbound turns at intersections and driveways will be temporarily closed, and detour routes will be in place to navigate around the work zone. Access to driveways and street parking on the west side of N. Coast Highway 101 between Basil Street and La Costa Avenue will be temporarily closed. Residents and workers can park in the parking pods on the east side of the 101 and access their buildings via the sidewalk. Emergency access will be allowed at all times.

  • Daytime working hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • On Monday, Oct. 31, crews will slurry seal the inside lanes of north and southbound N. Coast Highway 101 adjacent to the median from Basil Street to Phoebe Street. During this work, most left turns at intersections will be temporarily closed, and detour routes will be in place to navigate around the work zone.
  • On Tuesday, Nov. 1, crews will slurry seal the outside lane of northbound N. Coast Highway 101 closest to the railroad tracks from Basil Street to Phoebe Street. During this work, all northbound right turn lanes will be temporarily closed, and detour routes will be in place to navigate around the work zone. Access to parking areas on the east side of N. Coast Highway 101 between Phoebe Street and Basil Street will be temporarily closed.
  • Cyclists will share the lane with vehicular traffic through the work zone between Basil Street and La Costa Avenue. The City will post “Bikes May Use Full Lane” signs throughout the work zone.

The intersection of Leucadia Boulevard and Highway 101 will be resurfaced at a later date. We will provide further updates once the schedule is confirmed.
