City of Encinitas COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

San Diego County Case Count: 734

Today, March 31, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) reported 734 COVID-19 cases, with 20 cases among Encinitas residents.

The County announced the largest single day increase of 131 new positive cases, and encouraged people to look at the trends rather than daily numbers as we enter a period where we’re going to see many more confirmed cases reported in the coming days and weeks as our local situation progresses.

Stay home, stop the spread, save lives.

YMCA Provides Childcare Referrals to Families During School Closures

Childcare providers are still open and want to continue serving families during the “stay at home” orders while implementing recommended physical distancing and sanitation practices for prevention of COVID-19 transmission. YMCA Childcare Resources Service (CRS) is helping families in need of childcare while schools are closed to help find them an option that works for their family’s situation. San Diego County families looking for care can call 1-800-481-2151 to discuss their childcare needs with an advisor, who will complete a specialized search to identify licensed childcare options. Advisors are available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and will call providers on the family’s behalf to see which providers have open slots and may best meet their needs.

YMCA CRS is committed to supporting health care, first responders, law enforcement, and military professionals. They are offering a dedicated line for these families, staffed at all times, at 619-952-0242. If the phone line is busy, they will return calls as soon as possible.
