PROJECT STATUS

 A Resolution for Council Approval of a State Parks grant was obtained in January 2023.  Construction was completed in December 2023.

ABOUT THE PROJECT   

The Cottonwood Creek Channel Restoration Project was constructed concurrently with the Moonlight Beach Barrels and Storm Water Repairs Project. 

The south channel bank of Cottonwood Creek collapsed after a storm event in November 2022 and was in need of repair. If the drainage facilities were not rehabilitated, it would have increased the risk of failure and possible contamination of groundwater and surface waters. 

This project is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to maintaining safe and livable communities through consistent maintenance, as outlined in the City’s Strategic Plan.
