PROJECT STATUS

Project design is complete. Right of way acquisition is complete.  Required utility relocations are complete.  Actively seeking grant funding for project construction. 

BACKGROUND

This project will improve the sidewalks on both sides of Leucadia Boulevard between Fulvia Street and the roundabout at Hymettus Avenue.  These sidewalk improvements will complete the improvements for the original three roundabouts contemplated for the Leucadia Boulevard corridor between Orpheus Avenue and Vulcan Avenue.  The improvements will also provide pedestrian connectivity through this section of Leucadia Boulevard between Vulcan Avenue and Interstate 5 Freeway.

PROJECT BENEFITS & AMENTIES  

• Better pedestrian mobility through the corridor by adding new sidewalk.
  
  
• Improved safety for pedestrians and cyclists by providing an enhanced path of travel.
  
  
• Improved traffic flow through the corridor by removing the stop sign at Leucadia Boulevard and Hygeia Avenue.
  
  
• Enhanced aesthetics through new landscaping, trees and improved street lighting.
