Business Friendly - City Government

The City of Encinitas knows that time is money and understands the importance of getting your project or new business underway as quickly as possible. With this in mind, the Development Services Department aims to provide a "One-Stop-Shop" approach to assist you 5-days a week. Building, Engineering, Planning, Fire Prevention and Cashier staff are available in one location all week long to aid you in your business and construction needs. As an added benefit, Encinitas offers some of the lowest business registration fees in San Diego County.

Free Small Business One-on-One Counseling

Existing small business owners now have a new resource to help them grow their business. The City and North San Diego Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are now offering free one-on-one counseling appointments at the City's Public Works facility located at 160 Calle Magdalena, Encinitas, CA 92024.

Get advice and guidance from trained and experienced professionals in many different areas, including securing a loan, creating a business plan, or developing a marketing strategy. In 2019, the SBDC’s consultants helped small business owners obtain over $100M in capital and increase sales by over $65M.

If you do not currently own a business, but wish to schedule an appointment, you will first need to complete the SBDC's day-long entrepreneurship academy. The academy is held on the second Tuesday of each month at the SBDC offices located at 2075 Las Palmas Drive in Carlsbad, CA. Once you complete the academy, one-on-one meetings can be scheduled with an SBDC consultant to help start, manage and grow your business.
