County of San Diego’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The County of San Diego has established an Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) to help eligible households in qualifying areas who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hotline Assistance

2-1-1 as a Resource for COVID-19

2-1-1 San Diego is a resource and information hub that connects people with community, health and disaster services through a free, 24/7 confidential phone service and searchable online database. 2-1-1 serves the entire population of the County. If you need assistance finding food, paying housing, accessing free childcare, or other essential services, you can call 2-1-1 for help.

If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, first call your healthcare provider. Additionally, 2-1-1 has added a nurse triage phone line available to all. To reach a nurse, dial 2-1-1, choose your language, select “1” for COVID-19, and you will be connected with a nurse. The line is open 24/7. Nurses are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will be responding to voicemails left after hours.

Mental Health Services

With the impacts of COVID-19 being felt across the community, it is natural to have feelings or fear of uncertainty around the developing situation. The County provides recommendations for self-care that can be used for you, your family members, friends, and coworkers.

San Diego also has a confidential and free access and crisis line at 888-724-7240. It is open 24/7 if you want to speak to an experienced counselor.

Local Assistance

Community Resource Center (CRC)

The CRC offers many services including temporary motel vouchers, food assistance, and wrap-around services to assist low-income residents and those experiencing homelessness. CRC is continuing to provide services in their Food and Nutrition Center (FNC), Integrative Services (IS) and Domestic Violence departments. The current hours are as follows:

• Food & Nutrition Center: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Integrative Services: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Those in need of assistance outside of these hours, can email CRC intake desk at intake@crcncc.org or call (760) 753-8300. Those in need of Domestic Violence resources can call CRC 24 hour hotline at (877) 633-1112

Transportation

The North County Transit District (NCTD) is experiencing declines in ridership and has implemented temporary service reductions. All weekend COASTER services have been suspended, and certain weekday trains have been suspended. Please visit the NCTD website for the most up-to-date information regarding service alerts and changes, or call NCTD Customer Service at (760) 966-6500. Live Well @ Home

Live Well San Diego has launched a new site called Live Well @ Home as San Diegans are staying at home under the Public Health Order. This free resource has tips and activities for residents of all ages to find ways to stay healthy in both mind and body. The site is divided into different categories, including physical activity, mindfulness, social connection, and education for children, students, parents and caregivers, adults, and seniors.

Labor & Workforce Development Agency Resources for Employers and Workers

In the face of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Labor & Workforce Development Agency (LWDA) wants to keep workers, employers, co-workers, and families safe. What employees are entitled to may be confusing. LWDA is trying to make it easier and spread awareness through this centralized source of info. Use this information to determine what is best for you, your family, and your workplace.

CA Employment Development Department Unemployment Insurance Benefits

The EDD provides general guidance as to what programs are available and what situations may be applicable to your circumstances. EDD encourages you to apply for the program you believe best fits your needs and the EDD will determine your eligibility for benefits.
