Overview

The IT Operations Division (Ops) is responsible for ensuring security and reliability of infrastructure and operational environments that support application deployment for internal and external customers, including but not limited to: network infrastructure; server and device management; computer operations; security; and help desk services for the City of Encinitas.

Roles and Responsibilities

Secure and reliable technical infrastructure is mission critical to ensure City operations and service to the public. Serious disruptions or costly unplanned emergency repairs can occur if IT operational environments are not properly maintained, resulting in reduced productivity and service levels. The IT Operations Division is responsible for strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing operation of the City’s technical infrastructure.

IT Operations plays a critical role in providing access to City government resources used by the public. The Ops group broadcasts City meetings, webcasts, cable TV programming, and maintains the City's Institutional Data Communications Network. The Operations group also provides managed IT technical infrastructure support and administration services for the San Dieguito Water District (SDWD) and the San Elijo Joint Powers Authority (SEJPA).
