If your citation was issued within the last (1) to (2) weeks, you may not be able to view or pay it online until it is entered into the parking citation system. Citation entry may take up to (2) weeks. If you cannot locate your citation on the website, misplaced your original citation/courtesy notice, need additional information, or are experiencing difficulties accessing the website, please contact Code at (760) 943-2299.

Parking tickets can be paid online, by mail, or in person. Pay online or mail check or money order payable to the "City of Encinitas." Do not mail cash. Mail to: City of Encinitas Code Enforcement, 505 S Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024. Please put your citation number on the Check and/or money order. You can also pay in person at Encinitas City Hall Finance Department.

Failure to remit payment within twenty-one (21) calendar days from the date of the original citation or fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of the official courtesy notice will result in double fees to your citation. The City of Encinitas offers a Payment Arrangement Program for Indigent Registered Owner(s)/Lessee(s) who owe unpaid parking citations of amounts $500.00 or less.

Pursuant to California Government Code Section 40220, the Indigent Payment Plan provides the option to pay a parking citation(s) in up to $25.00 monthly increments and shall be paid off within 24 months of the Payment Plan approval date. Upon approval, a non-refundable Payment Plan fee of $5.00 will be assessed to the total Payment Plan amount and all late fees and penalties shall be waived. Waived late fees and penalties may be reinstated if the person falls out of compliance with the Payment Plan.

A DMV registration hold may be placed on your vehicle if the responsible party failed to make full payment on a parking citation(s). A DMV registration hold will prevent the responsible party from registering or reregistering the vehicle until all fees have been paid in full. DMV holds are removed within 72 hours after payment is remitted for all delinquent parking citations. To find out if you have a DMV hold, contact Code at (760) 943-2299.

Bring the citation along with a copy of your vehicle registration to the City of Encinitas Code Enforcement at 505 S Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024.

You may bring in a copy of your placard, your placard registration receipt, and a picture I.D. to City of Encinitas Code Enforcement at City Hall. In lieu of paying the fine, an administrative fee of $25, per California Vehicle Code 40226, will be imposed.

The California Vehicle Code (CVC) requires that an authorizing agent inspect the vehicle cited and sign off on the ticket acknowledging proof of either of the following: a VALID DMV registration, month/year tabs, and/or front/rear plates. Your valid registration, plates and tabs MUST be displayed properly and in accordance with the CVC during sign-off. A photocopy of any of the above, including smog check VIRs, online receipts and registration renewal notices/paid renewal fees will NOT be considered sufficient proof of correction. Proof of correction MUST be submitted in person to the Code Enforcement at 505 S Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024.

Please note: Responsible parties receiving sign-offs at the Sheriff's Department may be charged a separate and/or additional fee from the City's fee.

To request a review of a parking citation, fill out the Initial Review Request form and mail it to City of Encinitas, Attention: Code Enforcement, 505 S Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024.

If you do not agree with the results of the initial review, you may request to bring your citation before a neutral hearing examiner for either a personal conference or a determination by mail. You must pay all your citation fees and submit an administrative hearing request form to City of Encinitas, Attention: Code Enforcement, 505 S Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024.

San Diego County Court Notices to Appear and Notices of Parking Violations issued by the California Department of Parks & Recreation are not handled or reviewed by the City of Encinitas.
